This is the cult photobook from Mikio Tohara.
Starting his career as a photographer in the 1970s. Initially, a part-time photographer for the puppet theater company Hitomiza, he became a freelance photographer in the late 1970s. Most of his activities were devoted to covering social issues and documenting it, with an emphasis on coverage of Bosozoku gang, juvenile delinquency and girl prostitution.
The photographs, selected from a total of 800, depict the psychological states of boys and girls. A behind the scenes of a world where parents have to work due to post-war economic growth, and children who were hungry for affection were labeled as fallouts and isolated from society.
One of the masterpieces of postwar documentary work.
A superb copy
