Bikkuri House was a legendary Japanese subculture magazine, born in Shibuya, Tokyo, and published between 1974 and 1980. Known for its playful mix of ‘80s kitsch, humor, and parody, it became a defining voice of the era, influencing Japan’s youth and underground culture.
Featuring contributions from singers, actors, writers, illustrators, and cultural icons, Bikkuri House blurred the lines between art, satire, and avant-garde expression.
Between 1977 and 1978, a special spin-off series titled Bikkuri House Super was launched.

This is issue #3—a fantastic time capsule of Japan’s vibrant 1970s subculture.
