Weekly Playboy has been published in Japan since 1966 by Shueisha, the renowned publisher behind ONE PIECE. This special edition features actress Mieko Harada (Ran, Dreams) captured through the lens of the iconic Shintaro Katsu.

Mieko Harada (b. December 26, 1958) was just 22 when she modeled for this edition. Best known for her unforgettable portrayal of Lady Kaede in Akira Kurosawa’s Ran (1985) and her role in Dreams (1990), Harada’s talent and beauty shine in this rare collaboration.
Shintaro Katsu (1931–1997), famed actor, singer, and filmmaker, directed the shoot with his signature flair. Known for his rebellious spirit—he famously left Akira Kurosawa’s Kagemusha before filming began—Katsu also produced manga and inspired the character Fujitora in ONE PIECE.

This unique publication captures a fascinating moment in Japanese pop culture, blending the talents of two extraordinary figures.
