Kerouac magazine published from 1998 to 2000, quickly became a cornerstone of Japan’s alternative fashion scene.
Named after Jack Kerouac’s book On the Road, the magazine captured the spirit of Harajuku’s emerging Japanese counterculture, blending punk, gothic and rave influences with unique Japanese creativity.
The original Kerouac issues, now rare collector’s items, laid the foundation for what became KERA, a publication synonymous with individuality and self-expression.
