A definitive collection of works by illustrator Hiroshi Manabe (b.1932- 2000). He was also well known for his illustrations of science-fiction novels by Shinichi Hoshi and Yasutaka Tsutsui. He continues to depict the near-future world of the 21st century with his fantastic futuristic paintings, and has participated in the Osaka World Expo, the Okinawa Ocean Expo and the Tsukuba Science Expo.
This book presents the 150 covers, illustrations, posters, etc. he has produced till 1975, as well as essays on the artist by Sakyo Komatsu and Masuo Ikeda.
